Cleve and Districts Probus Club president Janys Asser welcomed 47 members and one visitor to the February meeting.

Don Smith was congratulated for receiving Cleve's Citizen of the Year award, and a minute's silence was held for members who recently died.

Mary Edwards introduced Grant "Fuzzell" Fennell, a well known businessman and councillor.

Mr Fennell lived in Rudall before moving to Cleve, and after leaving school he joined the state bank, heading to Adelaide before realising he was definitely not a city boy.

As an excuse to get a 'big' boat he began Fuzzell's Fishin' Adventures 12 years ago, a very successful venture.

He has featured in more than 20 television fishing shows, and his clients have included a Supreme Court judge with a group of bikies (an interesting day), Miss Australia, and Tony Lockhart.

Mr Fennell has seen sharks, a leather back turtle, seals, penguins and said a whale once swam under the boat.
