The Cleve Bowling Club ladies held their championship pairs competition over two days, with seven pairs entering with some very good bowling and some close scores from all.
On the first day, three rounds of 10 ends each were played with Ruth Spriggs/Flor Gurreonero having a close second game against Joan Post/Rina Noble, winning by one shot 9/8.
Mary Edwards/Elaine Schumann also had a close first game against Jacqui Dolling/Glenda Evans, losing nine shots to 11.
The next day the last two games were played with Trish Siviour/Anne Fannin putting up a good fight against Edwards and Schumann towards the end of the game, with some really great shots from both of them.
Joan Post/Rina Noble gave Pauline Wheare and Kathie Roberts a run for their money in one game, winning seven shots to six.
The final result had Wheare and Roberts winning the championship pairs with four wins and one loss from runners-up Edwards and Schumann with three wins and two losses, 57 shots, on a count back from Post and Noble who also had three wins and two losses, 43 shots.
Other scores were R Spriggs/F Gurreonero 2 wins, 3 losses, T Siviour/A Fannin 1 win, 4 losses, J Dolling/G Evans 2 wins, 3 losses.
