Cleve District Bowling Club's Men's Pairs Championships were played in great conditions on Sunday, November 17 with eight pairs lining up to be challengers.

In the first sectional, the team of Mark Kobelt and Rex Crosby were the winners with +27 shots.

The pair of N. Millard and B. Dolling were very close behind with +26 shots.

B. Elliott and D. Kenny had +14 shots, P. Keam and R. Hannemann -1.

The second sectional winners were the team of Kym Wakefield and Dene Noble +47 shots.

Other scores were P. Wheare/A. Spriggs -26, B. Crosby/B. Jacobs -21 and C. Traeger/J. Schumann +21 shots.

In the final of 15 ends, Wakefield and and Noble ended up being too good for Kobelt and Crosby.

There were some very tight heads, with bowls surrounding the jack - it just took the one bowl to be the winning shot.

As they say, the score does not indicate the great shots played by all players.

The final game was an excellent one to watch.
