Cowell and Lock have both had strong starts to the 2019/20 Eastern Eyre Softball Association season.
The teams sit first and second respectively on the ladder after the first five weeks of the season, each with eight points after winning all but one game.
In this week's top-of-the-table clash on Tuesday night, reigning premiers Cowell showed their strength, defeating the Lock side 17 to 5 to claim a percentage advantage of more than 10 per cent to put them on the top of the ladder.
Across the oval, the match between Cleve district teams Bombers and Slammers went similarly, with Slammers taking the win 17 to 5.
The match was the Slammers' first win for the season, putting them equal with the Bombers on points with two apiece.
However, the Slammers' strong win saw them overtake the Bombers on percentage to claim third position.
