Twilight golf set to tee off

DAYLIGHT savings is upon us and with it comes the return of the Cleve Golf Club's weekly Friday social and sporting event.

Twilight golf at Cleve starts this Friday evening, November 1.

While we have had a rough season weatherwise it all pales into insignificance compared to the racing industry.

(Or is that a sport?)

And dare we allow ourselves to mention Brexit or impeachment!

So this Friday, dust off your seven iron and head along to the Cleve Golf Club for some quality relaxation with nine holes followed by fun and food.

Hit off is from 5pm until 6pm with a barbecue afterwards.

There is no footy to watch and the cricket can be recorded, so get some barley grass in your socks and expect a few new surprises and prizes.

Who thinks the Crows have 'nicked' a new coach who can get their seconds side up and running?

Or, Port fans who are excited about their new logo.

I am sure it will make a 'Koloshal' difference.

Meanwhile, a new name in world golf for me, Xander Schauffele at number eight, while Tiger Woods has worked his way back to the top at number 10.

The first Australian we see on the list is Adam Scott at number 15.

And just looking at some financial statistics on another Aussie golfer in Jason Day, who earned $55,000 back in 2006.

Day then went on to earn a cool $9 million and $8 million respectively in 2015 and 2016.

He is now down to a lazy $2.5 million this year at number 28 in the world.

I wonder if he is good for a loan to get our local course irrigation system up and running?
