Bowls club welcomes new life member

Cleve Bowling Club member Brian Dolling has been rewarded with life membership of the Cleve Bowling Club.

He has been recognised for his 37 years of being a member, working tirelessly for the club and being on the committee for 20 years in various positions.

Dolling's achievements include being Club Champion four times and going on to win two Champion of Champions.

He also partnered the late George Schumann to win two club Championship Pairs, going on to win one Champion of Championships.

He and Mark Ward also won two championships and then went onto win back to back Champions of Champions.

(Mr Dolling) has always represented the Cleve Bowling Club with pride and gained the respect of all clubs and bowlers.

Dolling is a great follower of Eyre Peninsula tournaments.

He has played 19 times in the country Round Robin representing the Eyre Peninsula and he was selected 13 times for the Prestige tournaments which includes the city clubs.

He has been association and Region 5 selector and Cleve's delegate for the Eastern Eyre Peninsula Association and has always represented the Cleve Bowling Club with pride and gained the respect of all clubs and bowlers.

The announcement comes as bowls kicks off again for the 2019/2020 season, with Eastern Eyre Peninsula Pennant bowls beginning over the weekend.

Cleve Gold lost to Arno Bay, with Cleve Green taking the win against Kimba Red.
