A fire broke out in the beer garden of a popular bar in Melbourne's CBD sending plumes of black smoke over the city.
The fire broke out behind Prudence Bar on Victoria Street in North Melbourne on Friday afternoon.
"Crews arrived on scene within five minutes to find a timber construction on fire in the beer garden of a restaurant," an MFB spokeswoman said.
All patrons and staff at the venue were evacuated safely.
It took 30 firefighters to bring the blaze under control at 5.30pm and they managed to stop the spread of fire to the main building.
