The summer sport season on the Eastern Eyre Peninsula is set to kick off this weekend, with the first round of the Eastern Eyre Cricket Association.
Saturday, October 12 will see the A grade, B grade and junior competitions starting across the association.
In the A grade, reigning premiers Cowell will start their season with a trip to Port Neill, who will be looking to improve on their 2018/19 season after finishing at the bottom of the ladder.
Darke Peak will be hosting minor premier Cleve, with Rudall taking the first bye.
In the B grade, reigning premiers Rudall will host Cowell with Lock hosting Cleve.
Lock will also host Cleve in the juniors, with Port Neill hosting Cowell and a bye scheduled for reigning premiers Rudall.
Juniors games will start at 8.30am each Saturday morning for a 28-over match.
B grade matches will kick off at 1pm for 40 overs while A grade games begin at 12.30pm for 45 overs.
The season will continue with the annual Darke Peak six-a-side tournament held on Sunday, October 20 and the grand final scheduled for February 29 next year.
The Kimba Cricket Association is set to begin matched the week after Eastern Eyre, on Saturday October 19.
This week will also see the beginning of both Eastern Eyre Softball and Cleve district tennis.
The first round of tennis will be held on October 11 and 12, with Cleve hosting Darke Peak and Mangalo hosting Arno Bay.
The Eastern Eyre Softball Association season begins on Tuesday, October 15, with Cowell taking on Slammers and Bombers playing Lock.
A senior and junior softball association carnival is also planned for October 20 in Cowell.
