Nominations for the SA Agricultural Bureau Spirit of Excellence Awards have been extended for 2019.
Young farmers and rural youth can apply for the awards until 5pm Thursday, September 26 and go in the running to receive grant funding for future study.
The Sustainable Agriculture Scholarship for Young Farmers provides the winner with an $8000 grant for a farmer aged 18-40 to fund further study or run a project.
The Rural Youth Bursary, won last year by young Kimba local Luke Ramsey, offers a $5000 grant for a young rural person aged 18-30 to pursue further study either in agriculture or another career that will benefit their community.
Ag Bureau chair Mark Grossman said winners of the awards would be chosen on their abilities, achievements, vision and motivation to succeed.
"The Ag Bureau of SA is proud to continue to encourage and support rural youth who are working not only in primary production but in careers that sustain rural communities," he said.
