Federal Resources Minister Matt Canavan will be in Kimba tomorrow to discuss the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility (NRWMF) project with the community.
The visit comes a year after an injunction preventing a community ballot on the NRWMF project halted the site selection process.
The Kimba District Council this month re-committed to hosting the ballot after the racial discrimination case against them was dismissed.
Consultative committee meetings on the project resumed last week, with NRWMF Taskforce General Manager Sam Chard giving committee members an update on the project.
Minister Canavan will meet with community members at the Kimba Gateway Hotel from 11am to 12pm on Thursday, August 22 after visiting Hawker today.
All community members are welcome to come and discuss the ongoing development of the project and the site selection process.
