Flashback Friday | 1999

This week we look back twenty years to 1999, when the district marked 50 years since the opening of the Cleve Area School.

Community groups were in full swing, with the Cleve Lions hosting their handover dinner and the Road Runners vintage car club hosted a meeting.

Kimba locals provided charitable assistance, with a donation of winter bedding sent to the Salvation Army and the local Country Quilters using their skills to help refugees from Kosovo.

In the annual sporting events of July, the Eyre Peninsula representative side won the State Country Championship, with now legend of the Geelong Football Club Corey Enright in the winning side.

The Cowell Area School saw an upgrade to their technology with the installation of 20 brand new Microsoft Windows 98 computers.
