Grand Final: Great Flinders 14.9 def Eastern Eyre 1.4

The day had built to the grand final of the 2019 Kinlough Cup which was played in front of a large crowd at Karkoo.

They breeze had dropped away, making scoring at both ends achievable.

Unfortunately for Eastern Eyre it was all Great Flinders after that as James Richardson exploded onto the scene and ended up kicking four goals and along with Brodie Laube who kicked three himself they dominated the forward line.

When midfielders in Jagger Cross and Riley Doolan slotted through a couple more it was game over for Eastern Eyre.

Eastern Eyre never stopped trying but Great Flinders played the perfect grand final game, a true team game as the backline continually stopped and shut down any forward movement from Eastern Eyre.

Ethan Langley was brilliant and along with Tom McDonald and the speedster Macca Glover they found space on the wing and simply ran away from there opponents with ease.

Tom Crettenden was marking everything across half forward as Charlie Richardson played the perfect rover time and time again he pushed the ball forward and the delivery to James Richardson was unstoppable.

Great Flinders were simply too good all over the ground.

The old cliché best player was "the whole team" - that's what Great Flinders dished up to Eastern Eyre.

Congratulations to Great Flinders on winning the 2019 Kinlough Cup for the first time since 2008.
