Players from the victorious Cowell North football premiership team of 1969 recently came together to celebrate their victory from 50 years ago.
Having been trounced by Cleve two weeks before the grand final in the second semi-final they went into the match complete underdogs then turned around and beat Cleve by 20 points in the grand final.
The reunion dinner was held at the Commercial Hotel where 30 players and wives along with widows of deceased players were in attendance.
The evening began with a list of apologies and then a toast moved by David Llewelyn and a minute's silence for the deceased officials.
Following this, the ex-captain coach Greg Mullins talked about the match and read a spiel on the deceased players.
Roger Ramsey then proposed a toast which was followed by another minute's silence.
The evening continued with more speeches and much reminiscing on years with the Cowell North Football Club.
Two display boards proved popular with many photos and match reports.
