Community members across the region are hosting Biggest Morning Tea events this week to raise money for the Cancer Council.
The nationwide event encourages participants to host morning tea fundraisers on or near today, May 23.
Events began yesterday with a morning tea hosted by Marg Winen in Cowell.
The Cowell IGA has participated in the event since the year 2000 and will be running a large trading table today and tomorrow, Friday May 24 or until the table sells out.
The IGA will also hold a raffle and a 'guess which cup contains the tea' competition to raise funds.
In Cleve, the bowling club will be hosting an event today from 10am, and the Cleve Area School is joining in with an event in front of the library.
Port Neill Primary School is also among those who have planned a morning tea, with an event running today from 10.30am to 11.30am.
Funds raised will go towards a variety of Cancer Council projects including cancer research, prevention, spreading information and support programs including accommodation for those needing to travel for cancer treatment.
