Eastern Eyre sweep netball matches against Far West

A GRADE - Far West def by Eastern Eyre 32-62

With dark clouds looming and threatening to rain, the Eastern Eyre and Far West A grade teams took to the court to take out the day's title.

It was goal for goal for most of the first quarter until Eastern Eyre picked it up a gear and led by nine at the whistle.

Solid Eastern Eyre defence limited goal scoring opportunities for Far West in the second quarter.

Eastern Eyre's rotated attacking players made the most of the extra opportunities despite Far West's dogged defence.

The third quarter was a tight affair with both teams lifting defensively.

The difference between the sides continued to be Eastern Eyre's ability to score, settling goals under pressure. Eastern Eyre came out strong and did not give an inch no matter what.

Far West threw at them both defensively and in attack. It was a four quarter effort by both teams but Eastern Eyre could not be stopped on the day.

UNDER 17 - Far West def by Eastern Eyre 33-40

Eastern Eyre and Far West started extremely strong with some very talented game play.

Far West was first to settle and pegged a few goals up by the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter saw a few changes for Eastern Eyre which unsettled Far West and their centre drove the game well with quite a few key turnovers which lifted their confidence.

Far West struggled to score and Eastern Eyre goals were flawless.

The third quarter saw changes for Far West, goal shooter to goal defence which made a huge difference and Far West lifted to win this quarter.

Both teams were not giving up and were playing extremely well contested netball.

The last quarter was well fought and a few unforced errors saw Far West miss a few opportunities, letting Eastern Eyre take out the game by a respectable seven goals.

A fantastic game of netball, game of the day for the juniors.

UNDER 15 TWO - Far West def by Eastern Eyre 16-39

Eastern Eyre raced ahead scoring the first six goals. Far West struggled to find space in attack due to the brilliant defence from Eastern Eyre.

Eastern Eyre goalies were not missing and at half time Eastern Eyre led Far West 19-6.

Both teams fought well with Eastern Eyre showing cleaner skilled plays.

Eastern Eyre running out winners easily.

UNDER 13 ONE - Far West def by Eastern Eyre 28-53

After a thunderous, stormy morning the girls took to the court in lovely sunny weather.

Eastern Eyre took off to a strong start, coming off the first quarter with an eight-goal lead.

With the start of the second quarter Far West took the first goal where it continued to be goal-for-goal.

Eastern Eyre continued strongly at half time with a 14-goal lead.

The third quarter saw the teams go goal-for-goal again with Eastern Eyre making many positional changes.

Not letting the game slip away Far West held strong and won the third quarter by two goals.

The fourth quarter saw Eastern Eyre be far too strong, soaring ahead to win the game by 25 goals.

UNDER 13 TWO - Far West def by Eastern Eyre 7-55

Within the first quarter Eastern Eyre settled feeding into their tall goalies with accuracy.

Far West struggled to get the ball into their goal circle. Both teams made positional changes throughout the game.

The physical strength in Eastern Eyre's passes and drives down the court took them to a 46-goal win.
