Cowell Lutheran Church was the venue of the annual Eyre Peninsula Zone of Lutheran Women of SA/NT meeting on March 4.
The theme was 'spreading the word'.
People travelled from Adelaide, Springton, Cambrai, Wudinna, Cleve, Cummins, Tumby Bay and Port Lincoln to join in a day of worship, learning and fellowship.
Pastor Richard Fox from Lutheran Media was guest speaker and assisted parish Pastor Keith McNicol in divine service and the afternoon Bible study.
Lutheran Women state president Grace Kroehn and executive member Faye Jenke also attended.
Pastor Fox gave an enlightening talk about the work of Lutheran Media and the good that can be done using social media.
Through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Google and radio spots, Lutheran Media can reach into the listeners/readers world with the message of hope in Jesus Christ.
A generation who does not have grounding in faith are now looking for hope.
Lutheran Media is a ministry run entirely on donations so it was with pleasure that the group donated the morning and afternoon offering.
After lunch, the memorial hymn was sung for departed sisters in Christ, followed by the Bible study.
Pastor Fox took the floor and led the group through 1 Peter 3:8-22 under the theme 'spreading the word'.
Mrs Lorna Dutschke from Port Lincoln thanked Pastor Fox for his time.
Mrs Kroehn gave an informative report about what is happening at an executive level.
The zone project for 2019 is Lutheran Community Care. Following an invitation from Port Lincoln Guild, the group will meet again next year on the first Sunday in March at Our Saviour's Port Lincoln.
Gloria Brine and Julie Magnay gave the closing devotion before Pastor McNicol closed the meeting with prayer and the Benediction.
