Former Arno Bay local Nancy Mitchell recently received a Certificate for Fifty Years Membership of The South Australian Country Women's Association, including during her time on the Eyre Peninsula.
The certificate was presented by Marilyn Curtis, President of the Gawler branch of SACWA.
She first joined the Arno Bay Branch of the Association in the late 1960s, when living on a farm in the Arno Bay region with her husband Jim.
This last twenty plus years Mrs Mitchell has lived at Gawler where she served a term as president of the local branch and has continued to be an active member joining in all activities.
The SACWA celebrates its 90th year of operation this year and is still a force for good on the Eyre Peninsula.
The organisation is currently in partnership with the Red Cross to distribute funds to help local farmers manage the drought conditions.
