A group of motorcycle enthusiasts from Whyalla recently hosted an event to help Kimba's Henry Larwood with medical expenses after his international trip for potentially life changing surgery.
Whyalla Organised Rides (WOR) and the 086 group hosted a fundraising event in late January, with a spit-roast dinner, children's entertainment, music and prizes.
WOR also hosted a sausage sizzle at a Whyalla camping store to raise funds for the cause.
Henry and members of his family paid a visit to the 086 shed recently to receive a novelty cheque for $13,407 from the group.
The family were unable to attend the fundraising events as they were in the US, with Henry undergoing Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) surgery to assist him in managing his Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy.
The SDR surgery has improved his mobility and he can now sit upright with his legs out straight, and has been practising standing and walking with the assistance of a walker.
