The Lock Races dominated the pages of the Eyre Peninsula Tribune in March, 1994.
The winning horse was Top Master, with David Monaghan the winning jockey and the owner George Dawson.
Kathy Turnbull took out the fashion award on the day with her outfit.
Schools across the Eastern Eyre Peninsula were in full swing, still awarding top performing students from the previous year.
Current students enjoyed competing in swimming carnivals and sports days while the warm weather remained.
As always, work was underway on town facilities, with roads and footpaths opened.
Summer sports began to wrap up, with tennis, softball and basketball finals held.
Bowls and cricket still dominated the sports pages.
