Kimba Bowling Club is enjoying its new shade structure on the western side of the bowling green.
It is working well to shade and protect players, with the canopy providing a cool breeze.
The shade was possible with a grant from the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility Community Benefits Fund.
The club has been busy over the last couple of weeks with several pennants games.
The men’s and women’s club championship pairs was also recently played.
The women’s final was won by sisters Deb Larwood and Helen Harris.
They defeated Marj Yates and Kay Hannan with some great bowls played.
The result was 23 to 15.
The men’s final was more closely contested.
John Grund and Des Bourke claimed the championship by one shot over the team of Bryan Rayson and Ross Ramsey.
The end result was 18 to 17.
Congratulations to all who participated, especially the teenage team of Hudson Westhoff and Nathan Ryan.
