Uniting Church children have fun at the Eyre Peninsula Kids Camp Out

Children from across the Eyre Peninsula gathered at Thuruna Camp site for the annual Uniting Church Kids Camp Out.

140 children aged seven to twelve gathered for the camp held near Tumby Bay.

Kids camp outs have been run across the country for 40 years to connect children with the wider Uniting Church community.

The camp followed the theme; ‘A place to belong,’ exploring the sense of belong a church community can bring.

Children listened to speaker Shane Dodd, and a Kids Camp Out band, and participated in games and competitions.

This included a ‘Grandma’ relay race where children made and ate a scone as one of the race challenges.

The camp also involved fundraising efforts for Eyre Peninsula Farmers, with $450 raised on the final night through charity groups Mentally EP and EPIC appeal.

The next camp out will be on September 21-22 in 2019, and those wishing to sign up can contact their local Uniting Church or email eyrepeninsulakco@gmail.com
