Lock Area School celebrated Book Week on Thursday, August 23.
The theme of Book Week this year was ‘Find Your Treasure’.
The days leading up to Thursday saw lots of games and colouring in competitions in the Library.
Students and a few staff came to school dressed up as either Pirates or a character from their favourite book.
During recess there were treasure hunts around the school.
Visiting author Jarrad Elson who grew up in Wudinna and works in Port Lincoln as a dentist visited the school.
He recently wrote a book called Cheetah the Cheater which he brought with him to read to the students.
After lunch everyone was invited to visit the year 3/4/5 Trash and Treasure stall, a fundraiser for their school camp.
There were lots of items for sale toys, sports gear, books etc. for sale at a very low price.
Most stalls sold out with lots of students very happy with their purchases.
A total of $130 was raised.
The day ended with a school assembly where competition winners were announced.
