After breeding White Suffolk rams on the Eyre Peninsula for 27 years, Uralba White Suffolks is starting a new era.
Brian and Jacqui Dolling started the stud in 1991 with approximately 35 ewes and today Paul and Toniette have 350 ewes.
Rams were sold privately for a couple of years before Landmark Cleve took on the initiative to hold a combined British breed ram sale in Cleve at the back of the sheep sale yards in 1994.
That sale consisted of White Suffolks and Poll Dorsets, from two local studs, a total of about 40 rams.
These rams were the top of the drop from both studs.

This became a successful annual event for a number of years.
Around the year 2000, both studs had enough ram numbers to be able to each hold an on-property action, so in 2001 the Dolling’s had their first on-property sale, held on the original Dolling farm, Uralba, offering 100 rams.
Since 2001, Brian and Jacqui have retired to Cleve and Paul and Toniette have taken over the stud, so eventually, the time would come to move the auction to the farm on which Paul and Toniette reside.
This year the auction is going to be conducted on the neighbouring farm 5km south of where it has been held for the last 17 years.
Rams will be penned for inspection by 11am and the auction will begin at 1pm.
