Only one point separated the spoils of victory for players when a field of 11 teed off in the Eatts Timber and Hardware stableford at Kimba Golf Club on July 7.
Despite the sun shining over the course, swirling winds made it tough for golfers to maintain consistency over 18 holes, with only two competitors able to break through the 40-point ceiling.
With scores tallied, it was Tony Larwood bragging with 41 points, in front of club captain Clint Powell on 40 points.
Colin Matthews celebrated a full return by bagging the CL and ME Milton Long Drive, while Michael Inglis and Powell secured the Kimba Motor Bodies eagle shot and Murray Pest Control pin shot on the 14th and 10th holes respectively.
Larwood also claimed the daily ‘favourite nine’ prize with 26 points. Powell was again runner-up with 25 points for the nine holes selected before the round commenced.
It will be a change of pace on July 14 with a par competition. Golfers are to be registered by 11.15am for an 11.30am tee-off.
