Coming from Adelaide where netball is played socially (and by socially I mean without weekly trainings) throughout the summer, the past few months have been weird for me as I have not had the opportunity to play my beloved sport.
It has been a long year for me after having my 2017 netball season cut short due to a minor knee injury and to be honest I would have rather had a serious injury because the rehab would have been much better.
However, I am now right back into it – after a quick holiday to Queensland, where I had hoped to bring back some of the rain but to no success – and I could not be happier back in my groove.
It seems all the netballers and footballers are falling back into step for the respective sports for the 2018.
You can find out all the gossip from the football and netball in the 12-page Eastern Eyre football and netball lift-out starting on page 13.
The lift-out includes a full page fixture and eight pages of information to keep you in the loop for all the clubs.
This year, we have bumped up our football and netball preview and we would like to thank all the presidents for helping us with the information, as well as, all the advertisers because without them, there is no way this sort of preview would be possible.
With the start of the new season, I would like to remind all clubs about results and reports.
All results are to be put through our Eyre Peninsula Tribune website by 2pm on Mondays.
To submit results, click on the ‘Send us your news’ tab, and then scroll down to find the sport section.
Reports are to be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by noon on Mondays, and brownie points to anyone who can also send through a couple of photos from the games as well, if it is possible. As a player it is difficult to be everywhere.
If you have any questions about what to write in the reports or how long to make the reports or if you have any issues about reports or results, please do not hesitate to give me a call on 0476 802 002, I can easily point you in the right direction.
I wish all the netballers, footballers and golfers all the best for an injury-free season in 2018.
