The Lock Bowling Club held its annual tournament on March 24 and 25.
The sponsor was Justin ‘Chook’ Baker of Caskayde Property Services, Ceduna who also had a team competing on both days.
On the Saturday the men's fours was held in warm and gusty conditions with a total of 10 teams competing.
Teams and players travelled from Ceduna, Waikerie, Kimba, Port Neil, Arno Bay, Cowell, Cleve and Lock to compete in a competition of four games of 10 ends.
The competition was very competitive and not decided until the last game of 10 ends with one team on three wins, two on two wins, one draw and four on two wins.
Winner with three wins and one draw on a countback was the Cleve team comprising Warren Elson, Brenton ‘Butch’ Elliott, Colin Traeger and Brad Jacobs, who won by five shots over the day defeating Port Neill’s Lyall Bates, Charlie Dunn, Rob Grose and Nick Vaughan.
Third was the Kimba team of Jack Larwood, Graham Tiller, Neville Buchanan and Tom Harris.
Sunday's competition was any combination with a total of eight teams competing in a three-game competition of one game, 14 ends, two games, 12 ends
Competition was again close with three two-game winners with the eventual winning team being a composite team of Josh Noble (Lock), Nathan Cronin (Waikerie), Dene and Rena Noble (Cleve) with three wins.
The sponsor’s team from Ceduna in second place was Justin Baker, Matthew Degner, Stuart Wilkins and Tristin Zippell and in third place Arno Bay’s Garry ‘Baldy’ Callis, Yvonne Callis, Sue Edwards and Mark Edwards.
