Beer brewing focus at chemical launch

Local farmers were given a pre-season agronomy update at the launch of a new Crop Smart product at the Lock Football Club on Wednesday, February 14.

The event was hosted by Crop Smart national sales manager Joe Pedler and Eyre Peninsula regional manager Julian Wait who presented on the benefits of the high load glyphosate, Smart Loaded 540, including its Monoethanolamine (MEA) salt formulation for improved compatibility, low rain fast period and cutting-edge surfactant package to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of weed control.

Crop Smart sales agronomist Daniel Bowey also gave a pre-season agronomy update, providing farmers with tips on how to prepare for the upcoming season.

Special guests for the evening included Mark Butterworth and the team from Port Lincoln’s Beer Garden Brewing, who spoke about their brewing processes, using locally grown wheat and barley to craft a range of 10 beers.

Following the presentation, attendees enjoyed free samples of the beers, as well as a barbecue dinner and drinks.
