Arno Bay’s Ella May Pearl Edwards (Pearl) celebrated her 90th birthday on Wednesday, February 21.

To celebrate the big occasion, Mrs Edwards’ family and friends gathered together at the Arno Bay Hotel on Saturday, February 17.

All five of her children, eight of her 11 grandchildren and nine of her 12 great grandchildren attended, plus spouses and partners, as well as a number of other family connections that attended and joined in the celebration.

People travelled from Adelaide, Ardrossan, Whyalla, Port Lincoln, Ceduna and Cleve, as well as Arno Bay, to help her celebrate her birthday.

Mrs Edwards was born in the Tumby Bay Hospital on February 21, 1928 and attended school at Brayfield.

She married Joseph ‘Joe’ Edwards on October 23, 1948, moved and lived on a farm at Verran (JEMPE) before they moved into Arno Bay.

The couple had five children, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

After her family celebrations on Saturday, 60 guests helped Mrs Edwards celebrate her 90th on her actual birthday at the Arno Bay War Memorial Hall.

Mrs Edwards thanked all those who attended her birthday celebrations, took flowers, gifts and re-lived so many precious memories with her.

She had a fantastic two days of celebration.
