The Cowell Early Childhood Centre has received an exceeding rating following an assessment by the The Education and Early Childhood Services Registration and Standards Board of SA late last year.

Centre director Jacqui Finnis said the centre received an overall exceeding rating.

“An observer from Adelaide came and spent a whole day with us to assess the whole centre on the seven quality areas,” Ms Finnis said.

“We were rated as exceeding the national standard for all seven qualities, as well as an overall exceeding rating.”

The centre has 16 students enrolled in the kindergarten program as well as 20 in the Rural Care program, which was only established in 2015.

The assessment was the first for Cowell Early Childhood Centre but not for Eastern Eyre, with Cleve’s Early Childhood Centre also receiving an overall exceeding rating.
