Two men arrested for Cowell break-in

Police have arrested two men in conjunction with a break-in at a Cowell business in January.

Police allege the two men broke into the store on Cowell Kimba Road on Sunday, January 21 and stole power tools, cash and hardware.

Following an investigation, a 30-year-old man from Whyalla Sturt was arrested on Wednesday, January 31 and charged with serious criminal trespass, receiving stolen goods and theft.

He was bailed to appear in the Whyalla Magistrates Court on February 20.

On Tuesday, February 6, police located the second suspect at a home on Bevan Court Whyalla Stuart.

He attempted to run from police and was apprehended a short distance away.

During the arrest the man kicked a police officer in the chest.

The 19-year-old man from Whyalla was charged with serious criminal trespass, theft, hindering police, resisting arrest and aggravated police assault.

He was refused bail and appeared in the Whyalla Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
