Mid North, with playing coach Riley Barker and captain, off-spinner Trent Goers, take on the South East in the 2018 SACA Country Cup cricket grand final today.
It begins at the Park 25 Number 2 ground for this summer’s country cricket crown.
The Mid North boys, which are basically the Barossa and Light competition, plus Sam Mattey, are undefeated after a high scoring victory at Woodville Oval on Wednesday, against the competition new boys Alice Springs.
The South East, coached by Robbie Drentham with Matt McInerney as their star, lost their opening game by one wickets of Fleurieu but won both their second and third round great games in emphatic style.
McInerney made a brilliant 129 on Tuesday at Gliderol Stadium and back that up with a brilliant 72 against Yorke Peninsula at the Park 25 Number 1 ground on Wednesday.
The third verses fourth playoff is between Alice Springs and Fleurieu and districts while the game between fifth and sixth is Murray Districts taking on Eyre Peninsula.
Playing to avoid the wooden spoon are last year’s title winners Upper North and Yorke Peninsula at Eric Sutton Reserve at Port Adelaide.
