Lock Cup makes its return for 52nd year

The Lock Cup will return to the racecourse this Sunday, with locals and visitors alike set to flock to the popular meet.

This will be the 52nd iteration of the event, with organisers preparing for another big day.

Last year saw Port Lincoln trainer Angela Forster win her third Lock Cup in a row, when Montalto won the 1900-metre Ramsay Bros Lock Cup.

Jockey Justin Huxtable, who rode Montalto, was also joint winner of Jockey of the Day, with Brandon Griffiths and the Trainer of the Day trophy was won by Simon Drewitt.

This year will see a strong field compete for the major prize.
