THE Arno Bay Community Sporting Association is planning to redo the roof on its sporting complex early next year, despite not receiving grant funding for the project.
In a deputation made to Cleve District Council last week, Jeremy Calliss said that the association had been unsuccessful in receiving grants for new roofing, as well as bar and kitchen renovations.
The association will be getting a loan from the council to fund the new roofing, delaying the bar and kitchen renovations until they can gain more funding.
Recently, the association ramped up its fundraising efforts for the upgrades.
“We never used to do much fundraising, but we’ve started to do a lot more, such as catering, selling sheep and other little things,” Mr Calliss said.
Mr Calliss said the association applied for the Holden Home Ground Advantage grant, and would apply for an Office of Sport and Recreation grant.
