You may have noticed a fresh but familiar face cutting and colouring hair on Fourth Street this week.
Former Mangalo local Emily Hannemann has returned to Cleve to open a new one-stop salon for all of your hair and beauty needs.
After a number of years away in Port Broughton and the Clare Valley, Emily and partner Tom returned to town in June. For the past month they have been busy getting “Hair and Beauty on Fourth” up and running.
“We moved back to town on the June long weekend, and had the official opening of the shop on July 4,” Emily explained.
I always thought I’d end up back here, and it was just the right time to make the move back.Emily Hannemann
“It’s been so good to be back, it’s great to see all of the friendly faces around town again. And everyone's been very supportive and welcoming.”
Emily started her hairdressing apprenticeship in Cleve, before moving to across the Gulf to Port Broughton where she was able to expand and build on her skill set.
After four years by the sea, and one in the Clare Valley, Emily and Tom, who also grew up in the area, felt like it was time to come home.
“We decided to come home to be closer to family,” Emily said.
“I always thought I’d end up back here, and the timing was just about right to make the move back. I love the sense of community, the friendly atmosphere. The EP is definitely a more relaxed and friendly environment.”
Hair and Beauty on Fourth offers hairdressing for ladies, children and men as well as basic beauty and waxing. Emily wanted to thank the community for all of their wonderful support, saying she was looking forward to the future.
