On the second and fourth Wednesday of the month, the music room at the Cleve Area School comes alive with the sound of music.
The Cleve singing group has been singing together since 2009 as part of Sing Australia, an organisation that brings people together through song.
Since then, they have left the organisation and become their own group.
Barb Elson said they sang because they enjoyed it.
“We’re not a choir, we’re a singing group, and we do it because we love to sing,” Mrs Elson said.
“For us ladies, it gives us something to enjoy and keep us in the community.”
The group, accompanied by pianist Roma Gillings, sings at a number of different events, including Anzac and Remembrance Days, Probus meetings, senior citizen concerts and Christmas carols.
Now they are looking for more people to join their group, people do not need to be amazing singers, they just need to have a love for singing.
Ros Elson said there is no limit to how many people can join.
“We want others to join in with our fun.”
There are no auditions to join the group, you simply need to show up to rehearsals.
For anyone who would like to join the group, it meets at 7.30pm on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at the Cleve Area School music room.
Due to school holidays, the group will next meet on Wednesday, July 19.
