Twenty-five golfers from across the state competed in the 36-hole GolfSA Sandgreens event at Tumby Bay in division one and two, while others competed in a primary school event.
Will Stratford of Tumby Bay won division one with scores of 73/74 one stroke ahead of Cameron Bickley from Southern Districts.
Cooper Westoff of Kimba won the handicap event with scores of 82/ 84, while Thomas Klingberg also from Kimba, got a personal best of 74 and then an 89, finished a few shots back.
Sam Pearce from Lock played a great game with 100 and a magnificent personal best of 86 net 53 on Sunday to take out the division two.
The Eyre Peninsula team of Will Stratford, Cooper Westoff, Thomas Klingberg and Sam Pearce, took out the teams event for the first time in 10 years.
The junior players competed in a modified event on both days.
Josh and Erin Inglis, together with Zac and Charli Moyses from Whyalla took out the trophies in the primary schools event.
Although numbers were down, the Tumby Bay Golf Club, must be congratulated on an excellent job hosting the event again. Next year the event will be held at Yankalilla.
For the players now it is off to Renmark for three days in July, to compete in the Brett Ogle Cup, which is a match-play competition that consists of teams of five from districts around the state.
