Mount Pleasant Christmas Street Parade and Party goes on despite chilly weather

Wet weather threatened to come down on the Mount Pleasant Street Parade and Party on Saturday, but the show went on.

Despite ominous storm clouds and drizzly conditions, hundreds flocked to Mount Pleasant to take part in the annual event.

The Mount Pleasant Street Parade and Party has been held on the first Saturday in December for more than 25 years.

It was originally started by the Totness Inn Social Club, and is now run by an enthusiastic group of community members.

A strong contingent of floats made their way from Talunga Park to the Soldiers Memorial Hall.

Best float was awarded to Mount Pleasant Primary School, while the Mount Pleasant Men’s Shed – previously a winner of this category – was a popular runner-up.

If you missed out, you can watch the full parade which was livestreamed by the Barossa Herald.
