More late rain to come

Eastern Eyre Peninsula farmers will be racing against the clock to finish their harvest before more rain hits the region.

After extreme downpours last week which saw 40 millimetres of rain in Cleve, crops are expected to take another soaking with up to 40mm forecasted for the region on Thursday and Friday.

The rain is not expected to make its way to the region until later in the day on Thursday as it makes its way east from the West Coast.

Friday is expected to be the big rain event, with a possible chance of a thunderstorm in the morning.

Port Lincoln has already been lashed with heavy rains and storm activity today, which caused power outages throughout the region.

The Bureau of Meteorology has not yet released any weather warnings for today or tomorrow.
