Probus treated to jug collection

Cowell Probus Club members visited member Judy Francis’ home during the club’s November meeting to view her magnificent collection of jugs, which she inherited.

There are more than 600 jugs in all shapes and size from tiny miniature jugs to larger ones.

Some are for practical use, others are more for show.

The collection started at least 30 years ago and has grown from one or two to hundreds, being sourced from op shops, markets and anywhere else they could be found.

It was always easy to get Christmas and birthday presents for Mrs Francis’ mother as she and her sisters gave her jugs when they found them.

Along with the jugs, came the large cabinet in which they are housed.

Members were very impressed with the collection.
