AFTER contesting the Bathurst 1000 in a wildcard entry for the last two seasons, Simona De Silvestro is looking forward to a new Mount Panorama experience this year.

BACK: After twice being a wildcard, Simona De Silvestro is now a regular.

Now she is a full-time driver for Nissan Motorsport and instead of coming in for one round, has already battled it out with her Supercar rivals 19 times in 2017.

It means she feel less nervous at the prospect of contesting the Great Race this time around and is keen to improve on last year’s 14th placing.

“It does feel a little bit different because I’ve been driving the race car the whole year. It makes you feel a little bit more comfortable with everything because you know the car and things like that, whereas last year you just sort of got thrown in there. You don't know the car, you have to figure out the car and the track is quite tricky as well,” she said.

“So this year, it makes me little bit more calm about it. We really kind of look forward to racing there.”
