A Port Lincoln family is hoping to see a Richmond victory this weekend in the AFL grand final, in memory of a local die-hard fan.
The Mantle family will be supporting Richmond this weekend with some even travelling to Melbourne for grand final day.
This grand final has special significance for the Mantle family who are mourning the loss of Andy Mantle, who died in March after battling colon cancer.
Mr Mantle’s brother Chris Mantle said his brother “lived and breathed black and gold” and his children also support the team.
“They have all been to see Richmond play,” he said.
“Andy would be so proud of his team’s effort to get to the grand final.”
Mr Mantle said attending the match would be an “absolute thrill” to experience the atmosphere of the event and to cheer on his late brother’s team.
“Being at the MCG to wave the flag for his team will be a privilege and an honour,” he said.
