The Cowell Institute will be warm and full of song and dance on Friday, August 4 as musicians and dancers put on a show to raise funds as part of Barb’s Benefit Concert.
Barb Shearer has been putting on benefit concerts for many years since she lived in Cleve, and has continued to do so since moving to Cowell three years ago.
This year’s concert will see performances from the Cleve and Cowell school bands, local vocalists including Cowell Sing Australia and Cowell Singers, Cowell School Staff dance, Ra’na Dance students from Cleve and Cowell, in addition to many other musicians.
Proceeds from this year’s concert will go toward the Cowell Area School’s shade project, which will provide more areas in the yard for children to access shade for play times and the opportunity for classes to work outside.
This year changes have been made to the program. Due to the weekend sport, the interval and supper have been cut.
Doors will open at 6.30pm with the concert starting at 7pm sharp and it is expected to finish at 9.30pm.
The Institute will be heated to provide an escape from the cold winter night.
