Lock takes out annual shield

The Lock Golf Club hosted players from Darke Peak and Kyancutta Ramblers Golf Clubs in showery winter weather for the annual Triangular Day competition on Sunday. 

Lock won the stableford competition by one point from last year’s winner Darke Peak.

Best individual score of the day came from David Smith of Darke Peak with 47 points, while Aaron ‘Bubba’ Siebert from Lock was the next best with 44 points. 

Long drive on 17 was won by Paul Peters of Darke Peak and Paul Sargent of Kyancutta won nearest the pin on five. 

Vicki Mundy of Lock won the ladies nearest the pin on 16 and long drive on six. 

Birdies were scored by Trevor Mason and Paul Sargent on 17, Dick Cummins and Michael Holt on eight, Josh Noble on nine, Brett Dolphin on five and Nigel Crosby on four.

Jamie Pearson of Darke Peak handed over the shield to the captain of the winning Lock team, Dick Cummins. 

Club scores were Lock average 35.50, Darke Peak 35.55 and Kyancutta 32.67.
