THE Cleve District Council has adopted its 2017/18 budget and business plan, with a number of changes to the draft that went out for public consultation.
During the consultation process, the council received 50 submissions – 48 regarding the Cleve Sporting Bodies’ request for funding and two about proposed new accommodation units.
The changes included an increase to the money allocated for the Yeldulknie Weir trail to match the government funding, as well as, $3000 for signage throughout the Yeldulknie Conservation Park.
The adopted budget also inclues $250,000 for the Cleve Sporting Bodies’s complex redevelopment, subject to grant funding, and a contribution toward Regional Development Australia Whyalla and Eyre Peninsula’s Destination Eyre Peninsula tourism program.
The council also increase the budget for road maintenance to $700,000 for unsealed roads, and $100,000 for sealed roads.
Changes were also made to cover the Environment Protection Act Levy, investment expenses and the construction of open drainage from Quinn Transport to Poornamookinnie Creek.
