The Cleve Lions Club held its annual handover dinner at the Cleve Motel Hotel at the end of June with the board members for 2017/18 remaining the same.
First vice district governor Phil Bowman was on hand to induct Paul Wheare, Liz Kammermann, Raelee Herde, Alan Spriggs, Lorraine Deakin, Beth Deakin, Lyndon Briese and John Schumann back into the board.
Cabinet secretary Don Pritchard also told the attendees how the Coober Pedy Lions Club had been on the brink of closing and what had been done in order to prevent this.
Getting new members to join organisations is often a challenge, however he said with a lot of hard work, like that done by his committee and the local community, it could be done.
The Cleve Lions Club would like to thank local businesses Cleve 4WD and Camping Centre, Mitre 10, Brumfield Electronics, the Cleve Post Office, Ramsey Brothers, Cleve Rural Traders, Gifted and Pringles Crouch for kindly donating prizes for the night’s raffle.
The club also thanked the Cleve Hotel Motel for catering the night with lovely food as well as donating toward the raffle.
