SA budget 2017-18: Cash for second V8 Supercars race

A V8 Supercars race at Tailem Bend looks like a surer bet than ever after the announcement of South Australia's state budget for 2017-18.

Treasurer Tom Koutsantonis allocated $3 million over three years for licensing costs associated with the Shahin family's efforts to attract a second race to South Australia.

The operators of The Bend Motorsport Park already have a memorandum of understanding in place with the organisers of the motor racing series, indicating an in-principle agreement to bring a championship round to the Murraylands within two years.
