Changes: Cleve AH&F Society president Janet King is looking forward to the changes set to be made to next year's Cleve agricultural show.

The move to change the Cleve Show to a spring show has been delayed to give the committee’s management group time to put management plans in place for the showgrounds and building.

The next Cleve Agricultural, Horticultural and Floricultural Society agricultural show will not be on Saturday, October 21 2017 as planned, it will now be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018.

In the meantime the management group will also put together an occupational health and safety plan for the buildings and grounds and look at the finance and sponsorship programs.

Cleve AH&F Society president Janet King, who has recently come on board, said there were a number of occupational health and safety concerns in the hall.

“The hall has ramps throughout, which don’t have any of the necessary ramps or enclosures,” Mrs King said.

She said the show was moving to October based on feedback from young families.

“March is too close to start of school, parents have just spent money on school fees and uniforms.

“It is also the hardest time to get show rides in March and that is all the kids want at the show.”

Mrs King is also hoping to get the Cleve and Cowell area schools involved with the agriculture and aquaculture parts of the show.
