Associations set for Port Adelaide Cup

This Sunday will see the Eyre Peninsula’s best under 15 football compete for the Port Adelaide Cup, sponsored by Mogas Regional.

Lincoln Districts

Last year’s champions will be coached by Marble Range player Glen Schreiber who aims to have Districts play a fast paced, exciting game style. Jett Boxer reads the play well and has a good overhead mark. Leonard Wells Jnr is an exciting player with great skills and ability to find the goals and Jesse Trevor has a huge vertical leap and can play at either end.

Far West

Tony Dunn returns to coach Far West and is well supported by the young players. Ashton Riddle has great endurance with the ability to run and break lines, Harlee Chandler with his run and carry as a wingman and Chase Scott has good endurance and likes open spaces.

Great Flinders

Julian Wait is coaching a great list of young players, including a number of second year players. These include under 15 state player Henry Nelligan who is a highly skilled midfielder/forward, Jagga Cross who reads play well and finds plenty of the ball and Jeb Nettle who is a high possession player.

Lincoln City

Lincoln South player Anton Story is in his first year as interleague coach and has a great list to work with. Billy Haebich is a ball magnet who loves the contested footy, Tex Holman is a standout in the ruck and can take contested marks and Jake Horton is a strong marking forward with an accurate kick.

Eastern Eyre

After aspiring to be an association ruckman Brad Woolford turns his attention to coaching and has a great understanding of colts football. Skilled captain Cooper Llewelyn has great leadership, Bailey Francis can play anywhere and should be influential and Jake Bammann is developing into a long term association footballer.

Mid West

Premiership colts coach Stephen Baldock will lead the Mid West team this year. Captain Callum Saunders is one to watch in the centre and hits the ball with pace, Zak Lovegrove is a tall marking forward/ruckman and Nathan Hill at full back is a solid, reliable defender.
