BOWLS: Alan Spriggs shows Lions Zone president Kevin Masters the finer points of bowls.

CLEVE Lions Zone chairman Kevin Masters, from Wallaroo, visited Cleve Lions for a dinner meeting at the Cleve Bowls Club recently.

He then participated in a friendly game of bowls afterwards.

Mr Masters spoke of several things, especially the low numbers in Lions Clubs.

After a lovely meal provided by the Cleve Bowling Club it was onto the green for some friendly rivalry in an informal round of bowls.

Mr Masters had Alan Spriggs to tutor him in some of the finer points of bowls.

The Lions Club recently cooked donuts at the Arno Bay Dirt Circuit State Titles on a very windy, dusty and noisy day but it was worth it as the club cleared $700 to go toward community projects.

Members are also helping another member clear out her backyard to tidy it up but it seems her chooks are a bit lost without their usual haunts under trees.

For further information on how to support the community by becoming a Lions Club member, speak to president Paul Wheare or go to www.lionsclub.org.au
