VICTOR HARBOR – Australian cyclist Caleb Ewan claimed line honours in stage three of the Tour Down Under, which finished at Victor Harbor.

Vegard Stake Laengen led a breakaway with three other riders but they dropped off during the loops of Victor Harbor; Laengen held on until the last lap, where the peloton made its way past his tired body.

Overall leader Richie Porte narrowly avoided a crash during the loops of the city in the final stages of the race.

Overall second place-holder Gorka Izaguirre was part of the crash, but still only a 20-second gap remains between him and Porte heading into stage four.
